Simple referred to as Batman vs. Superman since the first announcement that The Dark Knight and Man of Steel would collide on the silver screen (in Zach Snyder’s universe), Warner Bros went a step further and has now officially revealed the film’s title after principal photography began in Detroit yesterday.
As the photo above shows the film will be titled Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, additional production locations will include Africa and the South Pacific, as well as production returning to the site of the Kent Farm in Yorkville, Illinois.
I was a massive fan of the Batman series (apart from Batman and Robin, Arnie as Mr Freeze was hilarious) and recently the Nolan adaptations have left me wanting more, but I somehow doubt Ben Affleck’s abilities to pull off a superhero as huge as Batman (the less said about Daredevil the better).
But like most fans ill wait for the trailers before I start casting any real opinions, maybe Affleck will surprise everyone and somehow make Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice an epic masterpiece, we can only pray.
In addition to heavyweights donning the capes like Ben Affleck and Henry Cavill, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice also stars Gal Gadot as Diana Prince/Wonder Woman, with Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne and Diane Lane returning from Man of Steel, Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor, Jeremy Irons as Alfred, and Holly Hunter in a role newly created for the film.
