Canal Plus & BBC Worldwide Productions are teaming up to produce a documentary film on French helmeted duo, Daft Punk.

The Daft Punk documentary is set to be directed by Hervé Martin Delpierre and co-written by Marina Rozenman, the in-depth piece will focus on Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo and Thomas Bangalter’s 20-year career, from their early starts in France’s underground music scene to selling more than twelve million albums worldwide and bagging six Grammy Awards.

“We are proud to announce our first commission with Canal Plus Group on such an original and creative film….BBC Worldwide France stands as a major French producer of documentaries with stunning production values and universal appeal” notes Louis Blot of BBC Worldwide Productions France.

Patrice Gellé, executive producer of executive producer of BBC Worldwide Productions France’s documentary division also said the documentary is the “first independent movie” on the iconic group.
